Lets not forget this Wolves side put inform Spurs to the sword 1-3
playing away so even without the 3 youngsters it was never going to be a guaranteed win
even if they played well.

Being cynical i'd almost say Klopp wanted this 3rd competition gone
before the champions league resumes

On Liverpool, I think Alan Hansen used to put it well -apart from some good performances from our new kids, it was SHOCKING! I wonder if Wolves are to be our new bogie team like Crustal Palace and Bolton used to be? Still it gives more emphasis to the Champions League and our continued fight for the title.

8-0 after 69 mins....can we blow for full time now?

Not always fun being a professional player or manager or a supporter.

On a different topic, I read about this disaster when I was young and are reminded of it by the article on BBC website. Since reading it I've always looked out for Torino's results, but they don't seem to have done much.

A rather good win and Champions League footie is only 299 years away, on the downside my afternoon flutter has been completely scuppered by the inept Gooners.

Leeds currently being snooped on by the boys in suits, its rumoured they will be deducted 200 points and land in League two. The Queen will make a decision if Bielsa will keep his head on Monday.

I actually watched the game and Leeds were well worth the win and some of the youth players look quality which bodes well for the future. The game could have been even better apart from the blind officials, they just seemed to miss so much.

Jack Clarke is a real find; he compares very favourably with a couple of the PL loanees we currently have, albeit one of the Billy Bigboots Chelski loanees suffered from altitude sickness and has just gone to join Reading to see if his indifferent attitude can get a game there.
Bielsa gave young Clarke his chance and the lad is now getting game time in every match; he simply plays with an uninhibited joy which is so refreshing. Long may it continue.

The officiating at this level is, sadly, consistently risible.

Newcastle were down 2-1 to Chelsea today with just a few seconds left in stoppage time. They win a corner kick. This was going to be the last play of the game. Instead of putting the kick into the box for a header to maybe salvage a point, they take it short and take a shot from I think outside the 18 yard box that sails about 10 feet over the goal and ends the game.

Who makes the decision how to take corners and free kicks? The players on the field? Or does it come from the bench and the coaches? Because Rafa looked pretty disgusted how that play was handled.

You can lead footballers to corners, but you can't make them think.
Rafa is certainly one of the coaches who has bemoaned the seeming inattentiveness of modern footballers to listen to coaching advice. With good reason.

Steven Gerrard was notorious for being seemingly unable to direct a corner any further than the head of the first defender. And he could play a bit. Teams spend huge amounts of time on the training field working on set pieces. Then for reasons known only to the individual players and their deluded egos, make a right pig's ear of them come match day.

Being a modern day football coach must surely be one of the most frustrating occupations going.

Today is the first big test for Ole, I think will will play some nice attacking football, but our crap defence will let us down. 2-1 for Spurs*

Your crap defence proved quite adequate to take three points in a cracking match; DeGea had one of those blinding days when they could have stayed out there for another 30 minutes and he'd still have kept a clean sheet. Spurs on the other hand, are about to lose Son and 'Arry looked in some difficulty at the end of the match. Not a good day for the Spurs, all things considered.

What still intrigues is the continuing speculation about the OT managers job with some MU supporters being perversely adamant that Ole GS isn't the right man in the long term. If he's got the team playing attractive football and winning, then all I can say is that some folk will never be satisfied.
Bearing in mind that both Klopp and Potch have still won diddley in terms of domestic trophies, that there's a resurgent Arsenal despite keeping Ozil and losing Ramsey, Chelski are still to be reckoned with even without a centre forward and that Man City look to be back and cruising on track now Fernandinho is back, frankly what do people expect?

Not that long ago I light-heartedly mentioned Southgate being linked with the MU vacancy. I was joking, not being a ruddy oracle. Some papers seem now to be grasping at that straw...
